26th Birthday

Another year older! So this year was full of changes. Moving home, moving back to Atlanta, tons of job interviews, ups and downs, lots of laughs and tears and two new puppies! I feel like every year I like to reflect on my birthday and see how things have changed and if I’ve grown. I think this year was focused a lot on being flexible with life and self care. No matter how hard you try to plan everything out, life may not always go the way you expected. You just have to be flexible and make the most of what life gives you. And as far as the self care goes, no one is going to do it for you. So you must learn to do it yourself! Take some time out, no matter how busy you are, to do something you love. Or, take the time to just sit and read or do a face mask—whatever works for you. You need to treat yourself well and that’s exactly what my plans were for my birthday.

My birthday fell on a Monday this year, so I went out the evening before and celebrated with my friends. Tacos at Bartaco in Inman Park (super cute place) if anyone needs a new taco place I highly recommend it. Then, we got whiskey and coke slushies and popcorn at Victory. I picked that bar, because I wanted something easy and relaxing with outdoor seating. The weather has been perfect lately to sit outside.

Monday, the actual day of my birthday, I wanted to do nothing more than just relax! I spent the day running a few errands (only because I woke up earlier than expected), talked to family members (some whom I was surprised to hear from but it was sweet), took a nap and caught up on some TV. It was the best day. Although I had things to do around the house, it was a day to relax so I made myself relax. The dishes can wait ‘till later. I feel like we get too busy in life and forget to slow down and relax. Bubble bath, face masks, wine and cake and lots of pampering was perfect.

So now that you know what I did and I went on a slight rant about how self care is so important...let’s talk fashion!! My Sunday night outfit was something I loved. It was causal, but edgy and totally me. Faux leather skirt, graphic tee and you already know my favorite mules. I added a cool statement necklace and a cute round shaped crossbody purse. This outfit will definitely be repeated soon—maybe with some tights and ankle boots for when the weather gets cooler.

I feel so blessed with the great friends and wonderful family I have. I’m hoping 26 will bring me some more exciting memories and unforgettable moments.
